Ricky's Baptism

On Sunday April 11th, We had Ricky Baptized. It was such a blessed event with all of our family and best friends there. There was another family having their baby boy baptized at the same time who was born about 6 hours before Ricky, they were in the nursery together!! It was a neat little reunion for the families who spent that day in the waiting room of the hospital!

Mark.

I have been thinking for awhile that I wanted to do something on the side to earn a little extra money but couldn't decide what to do. Actually, I was just running out of things to sell on ebay. I saw a commercial for Mark. and decided that was what I was going to do!

For those who don't know Mark. is a division of Avon but is really modern. They sell make-up, jewelry, fashion, skin and hair care, etc. It is also really easy to purchase, no parties or door to door selling, just check out my website:

Pick out what you want, purchase, and it comes straight to your house!

Ok, so I have been gone for almost an entire year, but I'm back!!! I have a really good reason for not posting, I was making a baby! :) On January 8th we welcomed our little boy Enrique. He is the sweetest and cutest little thing ever! Ok, maybe I'm a little partial, but other people tell us the same thing.

Break me off a slice of that...watermelon

Summertime = Watermelon here in the South, so I am getting ready!! I used the Orange stamp from Stampin Up!'s Tart and Tangy set and just inked half to give these cute little slices. The watermelon ribbon is from Target's $1 bin. I love to keep these cards on hand, you never know when someone is going to need a note of thanks or a simple I'm thinking of you!!

A little birdie told me....

I was in the mood for something simple, no embelishments, no ribbon. I used Stampin Up!'s Polka Dot and Paisley set to craft this cute little birdie. I have seen little birdie's popping up all over the craft scene, so here I am jumping on the bandwagon.

Happy Birthday Cupcake!

Ok, so I am a sucker for anything cupcake, but who wouldn't love this card for their birthday!!! The cupcakes are actually Martha Stewart stickers from Michaels and the ribbon is from the $1 bin at Target!

Flower Napkin Rings

While out shopping this weekend I ran across some napkin rings made out of flowers. They were so cute and quite expensive, so I decided to make my own. I went into my closet, pulled out the extra flowers from making the topiary (see below) and went to work. All it took was cutting the stems apart, getting rid of the leaves, bend stem into a circle and secure with flower tape. So simple and so cute!! They look great with my easter egg napkins!

Topiary

I love bright colors! and this topiary feeds that addiction. It was so easy to make too! All you need are: silk flowers, Styrofoam balls and piece for flower pot, flower pot, dowel rod, hot glue, paint (for dowel)

Paint your dowel in the color of your choice (I picked light green)

Glue flowers into styrofoam ball, completely covering but leave a place to insert dowel.

After dowel is dried place into styrofoam in the flower pot (hot glue to stay in place)

Use the leaves from the flower stems to cover bottom along with another flower of your choice.

Poke hole into ball, fill with hot glue, place onto dowel to set.

and your done!!

Spring has Sprung!

It has been rainy here the past few days, but just earlier this week it was defintely spring! The buds were forming on the trees, my flowers were bright and reaching for the sun. It was just wonderful!!! I can't wait for full blown spring and summer. I am trying to incorporate as many of these bright colors into our home as possible. But how can you have a bad day when the sun is so warm and shiny??

Spot of Tea?

I got this idea off of One Pretty Thing. This was completely free as well! I went into the kitchen cabinet found a tea cup and saucer (that have never been used) and put some silk flowers I had into them. Free, easy, and a cute way to update a room.

Wall Art

This wall art took me half a day to make, super easy! I got the frames for a $1 each at Michaels, painted them and hot glued ribbon on the back. The monogram was printed out from my computer and then colored with colored pencils, the seasons were done with rubber stamps. Super easy, super fast, and I think super cute!!

Sweet card

This card makes me think of summertime :)
